  • Yokohama Avid ENVigor ZPS

A century-old tire manufacturer, Yokohama has been producing high-quality tires in various categories such as all-season, all-terrain, UHP, winter, mud-terrain, summer, highway, performance, and commercial. The Japanese tire maker has a wide portfolio of all-season, performance tires with Yokohama Avid Envigor ZPS being one of them. Equipped with the latest run-flat tech, the tire can continue rolling at speeds less than 50 mph for up to 50 miles with no air pressure. It comes with H (130mph), V (149mph), and W (168mph) speed-rated versions.

The unique tread design of the Avid ENVigor ZPS not only looks aesthetically pleasing but also offers great grip and traction on paved roads. The symmetric tread pattern resists uneven tread wear, improves comfort, and aids in returning high fuel efficiency. Reinforced sidewall design is a big boost in case of no air pressure traveling. Designed for passenger cars, the Avid ENVigor ZPS appears to be an excellent option for someone wanting an all-season, performance tire for high-speed driving. It is available in multiple sizes ranging from 16 to 18 inches.

So, does the tire deliver the promise in reality? Let’s find out in this Yokohama Avid ENVigor ZPS tire review. Keep reading.

    Features and Benefits

    Yokohama Avid ENVigor ZPS

All-season, performance tires are engineered to offer superior traction and grip year-round. The durable rubber compound results in impressive wear and excellent low rolling resistance. The Avid ENVigor ZPS manages to achieve those parameters; let’s see how it does that.

    • Excellent performance – Four circumferential grooves allow quick water disbursal to resist hydroplaning. The angled cuts with 3D sipes not only safeguard the tread against skidding but also improve traction by providing extra grip in wet or wintry weather. The ribbed tread design aids in improving steering response and handling at corners. Yokohama's UNIBLOC shoulder technology ensures superb grip and control over the vehicle during high-speed cornering.
    • Quiet and long-lasting tread – The directional tread pattern with adaptive siping funnels and Yokohama’s low-heat generating rubber compound allow for improved wear and low rolling resistance that ensures high-fuel efficiency. The optimized contact area resists soundwaves from traveling inside the vehicle and you enjoy a quiet and comfortable ride.
    • Featuring run-flat technology – Built with run-flat technology, the reinforced sidewall design provides extra durability and improved comfort. The puncture-proof tech ensures you can easily navigate through low-pressure situations. By utilizing Yokohama’s technology, the tire can be driven up to 50 miles at 50mph.

I just bought them and haven't used them in the snow yet, but they work pretty well in wet and dry conditions. They grip pretty well to the roads. However, they are louder than my previous set of Goodyears. I'd still recommend though.
