Got a sedan, minivan coupe, or crossover? Looking for a touring tire that can deliver all-season performance, but you don’t want to clean out your checking account to do it? You really should take a look at the Sailun Inspire.
The Sailun Inspire is an affordable touring tire that offers generous treadwear coverage, capable handling, a refined and quiet ride, and year-round performance. According to our SimpleScore rating system, the Sailun Inspire gets numerical values of 7.9 for traction, 8.2 for handling, and a very strong 9.2 for longevity, with an overall average SimpleScore of 8.3. It’s a tire that exceeds expectations and can punch far above its weight class, but don’t just take that at face value – let’s go in for a closer look with this Sailun Inspire review:
Features and Benefits
Here are just a few of the design points that make the Sailun Inspire a capable performer and a great value in an all-season touring tire:
- Sailun’s proprietary SertaGrip rubber formulation is designed to deliver long wear and great grip and performance in wet or dry conditions
- SilentTread technology uses variable pitch sequence and staggered block pattern for a tire that’s computer-tuned to keep road noise low
- A densely packed network of 3D sipes multiplies traction in wet or wintry conditions
- Available with T-, H-, V-, and W-speed ratings
- Backed by a 70,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty
- Solid center rib delivers secure straight-line road manners and nimble steering response
- Circumferential and angled grooves work as a system to resist hydroplaning by evacuating standing water from the tire’s contact patch
- Shoulder blocks are reinforced and stiffened for good cornering ability
Pros and Cons
This is a tire where the positives definitely outweigh the negatives:
PROS:
- Very affordable price point
- Dependable and consistent traction in wet or dry weather
- Handling is predictable and consistent
- Generous warranty coverage
CONS:
- The tire should not be used in moderate to severe winter weather conditions
- Fuel efficiency could be better
- Cannot be used in any form of off-road driving
SimpleTire’s view on Sailun Inspire tires
What’s the difference between run-of-the-mill all-season tires and touring tires? Touring tires are designed to deliver the same kind of year-round traction and performance as all-season tires but with more of an emphasis on ride quality and low noise for long interstate road trips. The Sailun Inspire is a tire that checks all those boxes.
The Sailun Inspire’s tread design is computer-tuned to negate certain frequencies and resonances, keeping road noise to a minimum, and its casing and tread design ensures a ride that’s consistently forgiving and supple with little in the way of vibrations and roughness being transmitted to passengers. Straight-line stability and road manners are as secure and reassuring as driving an armored car, and steering response is quick and accurate without being jittery or overly sensitive.
A 70,000 mile warranty for any tire in this price range is pretty phenomenal, and the footprint of the Sailun helps promote even wear patterns along with improved handling and braking performance. Speaking of which, test-track results show that the handling properties and stopping distances of the Sailun Inspire rival tires that cost hundreds of dollars more. The Sailun Inspire might not be the kind of tire that will “inspire” you to push it to the limit on twisty roads or offramps, but it’s a great value for daily drivers and for sedans, minivans and crossovers that get called on to take the family on lengthy road trips.

Very good tires, had them installed and went on a 2200 mile trip, drove through lots of rain, very quiet, smooth, have not driven in snow yet but I am sure they will be fine, only rated the winter because there was no option to rate it as not being driven in snow yet.
