My original set of Grandtrek AT23's went to 70k on a 2013 Land cruiser. I replaced them with 4 of the same because I had a nearly new Grandtrek AT23 spare due to a road hazard. Did the first 70k on a 4 tire rotation. I hope to maybe make 80k on this set by using a 5 tire rotation. Only negative noted is that the edges wear quickly on the front. This may be more attributable to the LC than the tires.

All-season tires are the kings of the road on American highways, and for good reason. All-season tires present a great jack-of-all-trades solution for most drivers; they deliver a quiet and composed ride, handling that’s crisp, responsive, and predictable, year-round traction in about every weather except for heavy snow, long service with a generous treadwear warranty and durable construction.
Now think about the proliferation of light trucks and SUVs on the roads today. Not all of those light trucks are equipped with four-wheel-drive and even many of the ones that are don’t often go off the pavement. Light trucks need an all-season tire option that’s as capable and comfortable as what you’d find on a passenger car, except one that’s designed for the weight, power, torque, and handling properties of trucks.
That’s where the Dunlop Grandtrek AT23 comes into the story. The Grandtrek AT23 is designed for year-round traction, a quiet and forgiving ride, and long service – checking all the boxes that you’d expect from a premium all-season or Grand Touring tire, except with the load rating and construction of a truck tire.
But that’s all pretty general – let’s go in for a closer look with this Dunlop Grandtrek AT23 review:
Features and Benefits
Here are just a few of the features and innovations that make the Dunlop Grandtrek AT23 a standout performer and great value:

SimpleTire’s view on Dunlop Grandtrek AT23 tires
Are you familiar with SimpleScore? SimpleScore is the proprietary system that the SimpleTire team has developed to give you a quick overview of what a tire’s strengths are. We look at specs, reviews, and other data points and then cook that information down to a numerical score for the categories of traction, handling, and durability, along with an overall average SimpleScore. For the Dunlop Grandtrek AT23, SimpleScore numbers look like this:
Dunlop Grandtrek AT23
- Traction: 8.3
- Handling: 8.5
- Longevity: 7.9
- Overall average SimpleScore: 8.2
The ride quality of the Grandtrek AT23 is pretty impressive – the Dunlop noise/vibration/harshness team put a lot of time into ensuring that this tire can deliver a ride that rivals the best premium Grand Touring tires. The Grandtrek AT23 stays composed and civilized even on irregular pavement or rough surfaces, with little of that roughness transmitted to the passenger compartment. Straight-line stability is solid and confident, making lengthy road trips a pleasure. The M+S rating means enhanced traction in mud and snow (although it’s not as capable as a tire with a Three Peak Mountain Snowflake rating), and wet-weather traction is equally capable with short braking distances and decisive handling.
The Dunlop Grandtrek AT23 has been featured as the OEM tire for vehicles like the Nissan Armada, Toyota Land Cruiser, and Lexus LX570, thanks to its durability, sophisticated handling, and ride quality. It’s our opinion here at the SimpleTire team that the Dunlop Grandtrek AT23 would make an excellent replacement tire for a variety of light trucks and SUVs.
