I installed these on a 1994 Suburban K2500. The look is great. Traction seems great on gravel, dirt, asphalt. They are a loud, but that was expected and acceptable. I use them on highway only long enough to get to the trails. Not a highway solution if all you do is commute. They wallow a bit in turns (I don't run more than 65 mph on these), they have the classic bias-ply clunk until the tires warm up. But those issues were expected - just be aware that they don't behave like radials.
Tires look great on my 71 fj40 landcruiser. Same as originals tread. Problem is when I let my fj sit for a few days these tires flatten out into square shape or triangle you get the idea they ride terrible for a few miles then they smooth out.
Got these Deestone 7 15's for my 74 CJ5 and I'm very pleased with my purchase.
I love these tires. They're perfect on my 74 CJ5. I thought that the 7.00 15's would look small on my stock height Jeep but I'm very pleased with the look! Would definitely recommend these Deestone's as well as Simple Tire.
I have these tires mounted on my 1969 CJ-5. For my application, the tires will almost go to dry rot before they wear down even with most of the wear being from the pavement. Other vehicles that weigh more will probably have a different tread life. They handle very well in wet, dry, snow, slush, etc. They're on a Jeep so cornering is not a factor. Jeeps, especially older Jeeps, do not do tight corners at speed. Off-road these tires have massive amounts of grip. The only minor problem is the narrow aspect, but for my application this is not a problem and is actually an advantage. Due to the heavy tread pattern, these tires on pavement are a little loud. Though the amount of road noise is no where near as much as I have experienced with other agressive tread patterns.
I was about to buy a set of 8 for my vehicle, but a "D" load range says I can only drive a top speed of 40 mph.....is this correct? You would have to drive with your hazards on when driving on most expressways 😞
I'm building a show truck FJ-40. These tires just won first place at cars and coffee!
These look great and work really well on my stock Willys M38-a1. On the road they are relatively quiet and they ride pretty smoothly for an old-school bias ply. Offroad in the mud and rocks these things really do well. I air them down to 8-9 psi and the traction/ride in the rocks is comparable to that of the much larger super swampers that i am used to running. Overall they are a great tire for what they are, cheap, light, and complete the look of a vintage stock rig quite nicely.
I have only driven on these a bit, but what I have, I like! if you're looking at these tires, you probably understand the challenges, they are noisy and skinny, but they are a good value. I have not driven them in wet or snowy conditions so cannot comment. they are mounted on an older CJ5 that doesn't do a lot of highway travel, but when I have the tires track nicely and do not wander, rocky trails the tires do fine as well.
