Cooper Tires was founded in Akron, Ohio in 1914, and started by producing tire repair kits, tire cement, and patches. Now, Cooper is a full-range manufacturer of affordable tires, and received several accolades, and is a sponsor of different racing and sports events.
The Cooper Evolution Winter is a winter tire designed for use on passenger vehicles, such as coupes, sedans, CUVs, SUVs, and light trucks. In this Cooper Evolution Winter tire review, we will take a look at some of the features and benefits of the tire, its pros and cons, and SimpleTire’s views on the tire.
Features and Benefits
Winter tires are designed for use in temperatures consistently below 45 degrees, and feature a flexible rubber compound that can maintain its integrity in lower freezing temperatures. Moreover, these tires have optimized tread patterns that can maintain a strong and consistent grip in challenging conditions, such as ice, snow, wet, or slush.
The Cooper Evolution Winter, being a winter tire, is designed to drive through packed snow and features a studdable design that can provide maximum traction. Here are some noteworthy features and benefits of the tire.
- Better stability: The sawtooth center rib of the tire increased contact with the road for better control and stability.
- Increased snow traction: The Snow-Groove Technology helps trap snow for greater snow traction, handling, and stopping power.
- Studdable for increased traction: The strategically placed pin holes can be studded, where permitted, for additional traction and shorter braking distance.
- Increased grip: The multi-angled corrugated siping increased biting edges in every direction for increased grip when turning or driving straightaways.
The Cooper Evolution Winter is available in a variety of tire sizes ranging from 15 to 20 inches.

SimpleTire’s view on Cooper Evolution Winter tires
If you are looking for a set of affordable winter tires that can assure good performance and consistent grip throughout the winter season, then the Cooper Evolution Winter might be a good fit for you. If you live in an area where studs are permitted, you can stud these tires for even better winter performance. Additionally, the Three Peak Mountain Snowflake Certification ensures a reliable performance for your vehicle.
Also, take a look at the Nexen Winguard Sport 2, if you want better durability (8.7 v 7.9) at a lower price. However, Cooper does offer better longevity (8.8 v 8) and better traction (8.1 v 8).

These are my quietest snow tires I've owned did good in a random ice storm we got not much deep snow experience yet but love them so far
Everything I need I a winter tire! Will be replaced with the same when the time comes!
Exactly what I wanted and a perfect tore for a suv
Good Tires , Good Value, Simple Tire was excellent.
These are excellent tires, my vehicle handles remarkably better on the snow and ice. The ride noise isn't too bad for snow tires. I have purchased tires from Simple Tire seven times now and I am a customer for life. Simple Tire offers outstanding prices on top quality tires. When checking the DOT code on the tires they are always newly manufactured tires also. Thank you Simple Tire! I'm a customer for life!
Great tires for snowy and cold wet roads. Tire noise which can be a problem with winter tires is kept to a minimum. Very happy with my purchase of the Cooper Evolution Winter tires for my Chrysler 300. Glad I got 4, feel safer and more in control with one at every corner
Took a chance on these for a 2016 Hyundai Accent. Have had them on for about a month and they have been very good so far. I'm in upstate NY so we get lots of snow. We have a uphill gravel driveway which can be a real challenge, even with snow tires, and impossible without snow tires. Previously I had Michelin x-ice on the car, which were very highly rated on many websites, and they were absolutely terrible in any more than 1" of snow. These Coopers are in a different league. I bought them because they were the most aggressive looking snow tire in the size I needed. I've had blizzaks on a different car before but the new blizzaks are advertising longer tread life. To me, the only way to get that is fewer sipes and/or a harder compound. So, I bought these Coopers. Only once could I not make it up the driveway so far, and after dropping the PSI down to 25 (was 33) I was able to make it. I think we had about 6" of snow that day. We've had a few bad snowstorms, one of which I had to drive in on the highway on these Coopers, and they never lost their grip. Yes the Coopers make noise. Yes they feel spongy on dry pavement. Good snow tires are going to do that. We will see how long they last, but as long a I get 2-3 winters, I'd buy them again.
In the past, I have used the best brand name Winter tires, however, the Cooper Evolution Winter tire is without doubt, the best Winter tire I have ever used - (for all the 5-star reasons that I have rated (it) here. The distributor, SimpleTire is also an outstanding company to do business (with).
