The Bridgestone Dueler H/T 685 is a heavy-duty light truck tire that was added to the best-seller Dueler tire line in 2017. Combining the traits of several original equipment fitments into one, the Dueler H/T 685 captivates owners looking for first and second tire replacement options in the heavy-duty pickup truck segment. The tire comes with high-strength steel belts and two-ply polyester construction for high-load towing and hauling applications such as a boat, moving heavy loads, etc. Featuring a new tread-to-road contact patch, the Dueler H/T 685 ensures equal load pressure distribution across the contact footprint along with even tread wear.
Backed by a good 50,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty, the Bridgestone Dueler H/T 685 is available in 26 different sizes ranging from 16 to 22 inch that means it covers most of the common light truck sizes. The all-season, highway tire not only delivers excellent dry performance but also works well in wet and light wintry conditions by clearing water and slush quickly from the surface to resist hydroplaning.
So, does the Bridgestone Dueler H/T 685 live up to its tested Dueler tire line’s expectations? Let's try to find an answer in this Bridgestone Dueler H/T 685 tire review. Keep reading.
Features and Benefits
All-season tires are designed to provide superior traction, grip, and performance in dry, wet, and light snow. The special rubber compounds remain flexible in near-freezing temperatures and provide excellent traction year-round. The Dueler H/T 685 ticks all the boxes to qualify for a great all-season tire.
- Great traction – An all-season tread pattern with strategic sipes and deep grooves allow superior traction in dry, wet, and light winter weather conditions. Wide circumferential and longitudinal grooves expel water and snow quickly from the surface to avoid the risk of hydroplaning. The deep grooves on the shoulders aid in improving cornering and even wearing of the tread. The optimized driving pressure distribution on the blocks not only improves performance but, also, helps in limiting uneven wear.
- Long-lasting tread – The use of innovative tread-to-road contact footprint improves tire adaptability under load and also boosts even wear. The Dueler H/T 685 is specially engineered with heavy-duty steel belts and reinforced construction with dual-ply polyester for superior towing and heavy-load carrying abilities.
- Quiet and comfortable ride – The optimized tread with special rubber compound not only features variable block sequencing to reduce noise but also great tread flexibility that absorbs most of the smaller bumps to return quiet and comfortable ride quality at highway speeds.

DO NOT BUY THESE. Purchased 11/29/2019. Absolutely the worst tires I've ever owned. Bought them for 2500 Suburban, which came factory with Bridgestone! Had them on less than 1000 miles. I even did 2 alignments, rotated them thinking there was something wrong with my Suburban. Handle terrible for a 10 ply E rated tire. LT245/75/16 Dueler HT685. Do not buy especially if you will be towing. I literally almost crashed 3 times from these tires pulling, swaying, not handling even with full 80 psi in them. I am a mechanic with almost 25 yrs under my belt, usually pretty skeptical of any reviews, I need to write this review because this is a SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. They pull and cause your vehicle to wander, staying in your lane will be very hard to do, especially towing. Even stopping you will notice if you need to brake hard all of the sudden if you live where deer are like myself, you will not be able to as the tires lose serious traction, like you are driving on water. Very unhappy with these. Wasted money on tires from another brand name.
Choose these over Michelin (that's what was on my 2005 Dodge Ram 2500. Only put a little over 1000 miles so far. Impressed so far. Quite. Handle well. I got little over 50,000 out of Michelin's. Hope to do better with these Bridgestone's.
Yes, I'm hooked on Duelers.
