Considering how dominant SUVs and crossovers are in the automotive market and how many of them are on the road (they’re everywhere!). It's no surprise that tire manufacturers have specialized in tires that are designed around the ride quality, weight, handling, and road manners of SUVs. As every generation of SUVs gets a little more evolved and refined, tires have to keep up with them to be the perfect complement to those vehicles.
SUV and crossover tires are available at every price point, and the Accelera Iota ST68 is an affordable option for SUVs. Don’t let that put you off, though – this is a tire that delivers value and performance that are superb and it compares nicely against premium-brand tires that cost much more.
Don’t just take our word for it, though – let’s go in for a closer look with this Accelera Iota ST68 review.
Features and Benefits
There’s plenty to like when it comes to the Accelera Iota ST68. Here are some of the key features:
- Asymmetric all-season tread design with wide circumferential, angled, and lateral grooves to evacuate water from the tire’s contact patch and resist hydroplaning
- Three interlocked block lanes at the center are designed for rigidity, providing straight-line stability on the highway and sharp steering response
- Unique “exclamation sipes” are designed to cut through water, snow, or slush for improved traction
- Silica-enhanced tread formulation delivers long wear and improves traction in wet or wintry conditions
- Backed by a 35,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty
- Tread pitch is randomized and computer-tuned to keep road noise to a minimum by canceling certain frequencies
- Low rolling resistance design enhances fuel economy
Pros and Cons
So, is this Accelera tire the right choice for your ride and budget? Before you decide, let’s take a look at the tire’s pros and cons.

- The ride is quiet and comfortable
- Wet-weather traction is superb
- Generous warranty coverage
CONS:
- Some drivers report premature wear on heavier vehicles
- Not good in heavier winter conditions
- Should not be used in moderate to severe winter weather conditions
- Not the most fuel-efficient tire
SimpleTire’s view on Accelera Iota ST68 tires
There are so many options for tires for SUVs and crossovers, that it can be a daunting task to pick out one that will fit your expectations at a price you can live with. The Accelera Iota ST68 is one of them, though.
We’re impressed by this tire’s ride quality and low noise, making it a great candidate for long interstate trips. While the Accelera Iota ST68 isn’t a UHP tire, cornering performance, braking distances, and steering response are all pretty capable, even when pushed hard. Steering feedback is direct and response is sharp and immediate without being jumpy and jittery. The 35,000 mile warranty isn’t exactly best-in-class, but it’s pretty good considering the price point of this tire, and of course, low rolling resistance means savings on the back end when it’s time to fill up the gas tank.
No, the Accelera Iota ST68 isn’t a great tire in heavy snow (most all-season tires aren’t), and while it’s available in sizes for fitments on bigger SUVs it probably isn’t the best choice for a vehicle like a Chevy Tahoe or Ford Excursion. For smaller SUVs and crossovers, though, this is a tire that punches far above its weight class and is worthy of your consideration.

So far these tires have been good for what they are. They are not as performance driven as I had hoped from the picture but still decent tires. I would recommend them for anyone needing tires for an SUV or family sedan. They do have great stoping capabilities. Not sure about longevity yet as I have not had them long enough to tell.
My SUV comes with a pretty large tire that is not too common so I didn't have a lot of tire options and most were out of budget. However, I found these and the reviews were good so decided to give them a try. The tires look great and perform well overall I'm satisfied with them.
Excellent highway tire great stopping on dry pavement. 8k miles to date regular rotation & good inspection for wear at last oil change. Hard to beat what you you get for the money .Ride is 2017 Mazda CX-5
This tire is too soft for heavy vehicles like a large suv. The price is great and the tire handles well and is quiet, but they will not last very long on a heavy car. We got about 15,000 miles on our Infiniti QX80 and the tires were shot.
This tire isn't good at all, I've went through multiple and the sidewalls have blown on multiple occasions even tho the tread is still great on them. I've recently just found out these tire have no wire in them which causes blowouts according to my local tire shop.
Great price, Great Deal
Nice tires with a smooth ride. No compliants, except for tread life wears quickly if do you a lot driving.
Great tires, only run them in the summer. Exactly what I was looking for delivered right to my door!
